We had a string of hard SW winds this summer! It has kept the waters jumping up and down temperature wise. You see us running here and there and occasionally grabbing that offshore party that just could not even make it a few miles on the water.
All dependent on currents and breezes, it is what we do. Honestly, we have had a good summer. To say we have not been challenged some days would be a lie. Fish eight miles one day, quarter mile the next, twenty-two miles the very next day. Some days barely a bite the next; a full on monty!
Personally, have not caught the first ribbonfish this year. A captain told me his friend had them all the way up in Maryland. That is a very long way! Keep them please! We are grateful when they are here but have enjoyed a very good year earlier on blues big and small.
Spanish are still moving up and down the coast. The red drum bite has been good with pods popping up on the fly. One or two amberjack earlier led to alot of attention and that fish-scarce due to pressure. Bottom for some triggers and bass also has had some company .
The best game plan is to go fishing. IF there is something you are curious about just call or email before you book! When the weather and timeframe are good, we would be glad to explore options!
It is never one spot to the next as that is something you enjoy in your personal outboard. We do break it up when possible.
We have NE due for the next few days then the heat returns. Thank you so much to our two legged and four legged groups!
We still have a solid month to go and the weekends have been lower on traffic so we appreciated all the weekends we continue to fish on!
